The Dell PowerEdge R640 is a 2U rackmount server system built for business workloads such as virtualisation, databases, file storage, backups and application hosting. Dual Intel Xeon Gold 6154 processors deliver 36 cores at 3.00GHz for dependable multi-threaded performance. The system ships new with 256GB of DDR4 memory installed across two LGA3647 sockets.

H730P Controller and NVMe-Ready Bays

The included H730P storage controller simplifies setup and day-to-day management of the storage subsystem. Ten 2.5-inch drive bays provide expansion capacity, with eight bays supporting NVMe drives for high-speed storage configurations. Drives are not included, allowing selection of capacity and drive type to match specific workload requirements.

256GB DDR4 with 3TB Headroom

Installed 256GB DDR4 memory supports multiple services, virtual machines and data-heavy business applications simultaneously. The platform scales to a maximum of 3TB, providing substantial headroom for future growth.
