Fourteen cores per socket deliver 28 threads for parallel tasks such as virtual desktop infrastructure, databases and data-warehouse nodes. Registered ECC DDR4 memory totals 512 GB across 16 modules, leaving eight slots open for expansion up to the platform maximum of 1.5 TB.

Sustained throughput from 24 enterprise SATA SSDs

Twenty-four 800 GB solid-state drives sit behind a PERC H730 controller with 1 GB cache and battery backup, supporting RAID levels 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60. The 12 Gb/s SAS/SATA link keeps each drive at its native 6 Gb/s SATA rate during long sequential writes, avoiding the throttle seen on smaller arrays.
