The Dell PowerEdge R740 is a 2U rack server built for compute-intensive workloads. It ships with two Intel Xeon Platinum 8160 processors, each running at 2.1 GHz with 24 cores. The system includes 128 GB of DDR4 registered ECC memory across eight 16 GB modules. Eight 800 GB SATA SSDs and a PERC H730P RAID controller provide high-speed storage redundancy.

This server fits environments that need dense processing power and redundant power supplies in a 2U form factor. The dual 10 Gb SFP+ and dual 1 GbE ports support high-throughput networking.
