The Dell PowerEdge R740xd chassis holds twelve 3.5-inch drive bays in a 2U rack-mount form factor. Two Intel Xeon 5118 processors run at 2.3 GHz with twelve cores each and 16.5 MB cache. A full terabyte of DDR4 ECC registered memory is installed, leaving headroom to the 3 TB maximum.
