The Dell PowerEdge R740xd fits 24 small-form-factor drives in a 2U chassis, making it a dense platform for storage-heavy workloads such as software-defined storage, backup targets or media archives. Dual Xeon Gold 6126 processors and 384 GB of DDR4 ECC memory supply the compute and memory bandwidth those workloads demand.

384 GB DDR4 with 3 TB headroom

The system ships with 384 GB of registered DDR4 installed across its memory slots, leaving room to grow toward the 3 TB maximum when datasets expand. Twenty-four 2.5-inch bays accept SATA drives managed by the PERC H730P controller, so capacity scales by adding drives rather than swapping chassis.

iDRAC9 Enterprise and 10 GbE included

An iDRAC9 Enterprise licence provides full remote console, power control and firmware orchestration without extra cost. Dual 1100 W power supplies and a 10 GbE two-port 562T adapter are fitted, while drives and rail kits remain optional and can be specified at order time.
