4U rackmount chassis for dense storage

The iStarUSA D416-B6SL-SL is a 4U rackmount server chassis built around six hot-swap 3.5″ SAS/SATA drive bays. Aluminium and steel construction houses ATX or microATX boards up to 12 × 9.6 inches. Two external 5.25″ bays and two internal 3.5″ bays add further capacity. Seven expansion slots and front USB ports complete the package.

Suited to storage-heavy 4U deployments

This chassis fits builders who need many hot-swap drives in a standard 4U envelope and can work with ATX or microATX motherboards. It is not for systems requiring E-ATX or larger boards, nor for builds that need more than seven expansion slots. Buyers wanting tool-less drive trays beyond the six supplied or a deeper cabinet than 26 inches should look elsewhere.

Six hot-swap bays plus four fixed positions

The six front hot-swap bays accept 3.5″ SAS or SATA drives for high-availability storage arrays. Two internal 3.5″ bays and two 5.25″ bays provide additional room for OS drives or optical media. Seven full-height slots support add-in cards such as RAID controllers or network adapters. Storage density tops out at the eight 3.5″ positions provided.
