The iStarUSA S-35EX is a black tower chassis that fits a mini-ITX board measuring 6.7 x 6.7 inches. It provides five hot-swap bays for 3.5-inch drives and a single internal 2.5-inch bay, making it suited for compact file servers or backup appliances. A single expansion slot supports a low-profile add-in card such as a RAID controller or network adapter.

Sustained Cooling With One 120mm Fan

A single 120mm fan pulls air through the front bezel and across the drive cage to exhaust at the rear. The steady airflow is adequate for a low-power CPU and the five spinning disks during continuous read and write cycles. Builders planning high-wattage components or additional expansion cards will need to assess thermal headroom carefully.

Aluminum Face and SECC Frame

The front panel uses 4mm aluminum for rigidity and a clean appearance, while the main chassis is formed from 0.8mm SECC steel. Three external 5.25-inch bays remain open for optional mobile drive cages or optical drives. Front I/O includes two USB 2.0 ports and a power button, and the chassis accepts a Flex form-factor power supply.
