Ultra-thin extension board

The Khadas M2X Extension board adds M.2 expansion to VIM3, VIM3L and Edge-V single-board computers. It measures 94.0 x 56.0 x 5.5 mm and fits directly onto the host board. Developers and makers use it to attach fast storage or cellular connectivity to their edge-computing projects.

M.2 slots and GPIO access

One M-key slot accepts a 2280 NVMe SSD while a B-key slot supports a 4G LTE module with a built-in nano-SIM holder. A 10-pin GPIO header remains exposed for additional peripherals. The board connects through a single PCIe lane on VIM3 and VIM3L, and uses four lanes for SSD-only operation on Edge-V.

Storage and cellular headroom

The M-key slot provides headroom for high-capacity NVMe drives, removing the storage bottleneck of onboard eMMC. The B-key slot enables mobile broadband when a compatible module and SIM are installed. Edge-V users gain SSD support but cannot use the LTE function. Builders needing more than one NVMe drive or a second cellular modem must look elsewhere.
