This 1U Supermicro system ships with two Intel Xeon E5-2690 v4 processors, each running 14 cores at 2.6 GHz, and 32 GB of DDR4 ECC memory. It includes a MegaRAID 9361-8i controller, four 3.5-inch hot-plug drive trays, quad 10GBase-T ports and IPMI 2.0 remote management. Redundant 750 W platinum power supplies are installed.

Fits virtualization hosts needing many threads

Buyers who need more than four 3.5-inch drive bays should consider a larger chassis. The Matrox G200 graphics with 8 MB video memory will not serve GPU compute or visualisation workloads. Memory capacity is limited to the installed 32 GB unless additional DIMMs are sourced separately.

Four 3.5-inch hot-plug bays with SAS/SATA RAID

The storage subsystem provides exactly four front-accessible 3.5-inch trays wired to the 9361-8i controller supporting RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60. This bay count and controller combination determines how many spinning disks or SATA SSDs can be deployed internally.
