The TeKit PCI Express card adds four DB9 RS-232 ports through a single x1 slot. It targets industrial users, automation engineers and legacy-equipment maintainers who need reliable serial connectivity on modern motherboards. The WCH384 chipset provides 16C950-compatible UARTs with 128-byte FIFOs for stable data transfer up to 230400bps.

Slot flexibility and power options

The card accepts x1, x2, x4, x8 or x16 PCI Express connectors and includes a low-profile bracket for compact chassis. A fan-out cable breaks the single bracket cutout into four DB9 connectors. Each port can optionally supply 5 V or 12 V DC on pin 1 or pin 9, letting you power external serial devices without separate adapters.

Under continuous load the 128-byte transmit and receive FIFOs reduce CPU interrupt overhead and prevent data loss during long transfers.
