Dell DRAC FX100 Remote Access Card

The Dell DRAC FX100 is a genuine OEM host card that adds dedicated remote-management capability to a long list of OptiPlex, Inspiron, XPS, Vostro and Dimension desktops. It plugs into a full-height PCI Express x16 slot and provides out-of-band access so administrators can monitor, power-cycle or reinstall systems without being physically present. The card is aimed at IT teams that manage fleets of compatible Dell towers and small-form-factor units in offices, labs or branch locations.

PCI Express x16 mounting with dual DVI and NIC

The card occupies a standard full-height PCIe x16 expansion slot and exposes two DVI video outputs alongside a single RJ-45 network port. The DVI connectors allow the card to drive local displays for initial setup or troubleshooting, while the dedicated Ethernet jack carries the management traffic separately from the host operating system. Because it uses a full-height bracket, the card fits only chassis that accept full-height add-in cards; low-profile or slim towers cannot accommodate it.

Remote management limited to supported Dell desktops

The FX100 firmware works exclusively with the Dell desktop models listed in the compatibility table, so it cannot be used in servers, workstations from other vendors, or newer OptiPlex generations beyond those identified. The interface relies on the PCIe x16 bus for power and data, but the management features are bounded by the card's own processor and the DRAC implementation Dell developed for these platforms. Buyers needing IPMI, Redfish or support for current-generation hardware will not find those capabilities here.
