The Dell PowerEdge R740 is a 2U rack server equipped with two Intel Silver 4210R processors, each delivering 10 cores at 2.4 GHz with 13.75 MB cache. It ships with 256 GB of DDR4 memory arranged as sixteen 16 GB modules running at 2666 MT/s. This configuration targets virtualisation hosts, database nodes and compute clusters that need balanced core count and memory capacity in a standard rack footprint.

H730P RAID controller and 10K SAS drives

The integrated H730P controller manages the two installed 2.4 TB 10K SAS drives, providing hardware RAID with cache protection for low-latency transactional workloads. The chassis offers eight 2.5-inch bays, so six additional drives can be added without expanding the enclosure. An Intel X550 network daughter card supplies two 10 Gb RJ45 and two 1 Gb RJ45 ports, giving flexible uplink options for storage or east-west traffic.

Redundant 1100 W PSUs and iDRAC9 Enterprise

Dual 1100 W power supplies deliver full redundancy for continuous operation in production racks. The server includes iDRAC9 Enterprise for comprehensive out-of-band management, remote console and lifecycle automation. Up to eight PCIe Gen 3 slots are available for accelerator cards, additional NICs or storage adapters.
