HPE 6 TB Midline SATA Drive

This HPE Midline hard drive provides 6 TB of storage in a 3.5 inch form factor and connects through a SATA 6.0 Gb/s interface. It spins at 7200 RPM and carries an average seek time of 8.5 ms. The unit is supplied new with zero hours of prior use and fits hot-swap drive bays.

Sustained workload behaviour

At 7200 RPM the spindle maintains a constant rotational speed during long write or read sequences rather than throttling after a short burst. The 8.5 ms average seek time reflects steady positioning performance across the full 6 TB capacity. Hot-swap support allows the drive to be replaced without powering down the enclosure during extended operations.

SATA 6.0 Gb/s interface limits

The SATA 6.0 Gb/s link caps maximum theoretical throughput at 6.0 Gb/s, so sustained transfer rates cannot exceed that ceiling.
