Portable USB 3.0 and Type-C DVD Writer

This new KEHIPI external drive reads and writes CDs and DVDs through a built-in cable that plugs into USB Type-A or Type-C ports. It operates without an external power supply or driver installation on Windows, macOS 10.16 or later, and most Linux distributions. The unit measures 6.5 in by 6.5 in by 1.0 in and is finished in black.

Integrated dual-connector cable

The permanently attached lead ends in both a USB 3.0 Type-A plug and a USB Type-C plug, so the same drive connects to older laptops, newer ultrabooks, MacBooks and desktop rear ports without an adapter. Plug-and-play recognition means the operating system mounts the drive automatically, though macOS only shows the icon when a readable disc is present.

8x DVD and 24x CD maximum speeds

The mechanism writes DVD±R and DVD±RW media at up to 8x and CD-R/RW media at up to 24x, with a USB 3.0 interface rated at 5 Gbps. It does not support Blu-ray or 4K discs, nor does it work with ChromeOS, iPads, tablets, televisions, vehicle infotainment systems or some Microsoft Surface models.
