Compact IoT kit for embedded projects

The MCDODO Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W Basic Kit bundles a quad-core 64-bit ARM Cortex-A53 board with 512MB LPDDR2 DRAM, a Mini HDMI to standard HDMI adapter, a Micro-USB OTG adapter, a 40-pin header and an aluminum heatsink. It targets makers building headless sensors, media endpoints or lightweight edge nodes that need wireless connectivity in a tiny footprint. Power, storage, enclosure and peripherals are not included.

Sustained workload thermal behaviour

The quad-core processor runs at 1GHz and the VideoCore IV GPU supports 1080p30 video output, so extended streaming or compute tasks generate noticeable heat. The supplied aluminum heatsink attaches directly to the SoC and passively spreads that heat, helping the board maintain clock speeds during long runs without active cooling. Wireless 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.2 remain stable while the CPU is loaded.

Connector layout and daily assembly

The 40-pin header follows the standard HAT pinout, letting you stack add-on boards or wire custom circuits without soldering. Mini HDMI and USB 2.0 OTG ports require the included adapters for full-size cables, which adds a step but keeps the board outline minimal. Composite video and reset pins are exposed as solder test points, and the CSI camera connector accepts standard ribbon cables for vision projects.

Küsimused selle toote kohta

Does the aluminium heatsink keep the board cool enough for continuous 1080p30 output?

The included aluminium heatsink helps dissipate heat so the board remains stable during heavy workloads and sustained 1080p30 video output.

What power supply and storage do I need to start using the kit?

You must provide a 5 V micro-USB power source and a microSD card; neither is included in the kit.

Will my existing HATs and CSI camera module plug straight into the 40-pin header and CSI connector?

Yes, the board has a HAT-compatible 40-pin header and a CSI camera connector, so existing HATs and CSI camera modules connect directly.
