Portable SSD enclosure for SATA drives

The Orico enclosure converts a single M.2 SATA SSD with B-key or B+M-key into a USB Type-C external drive. It accepts 2230, 2242, 2260 and 2280 form factors and supports up to 4TB capacity. NVMe and PCIe-based M.2 devices are not compatible. Builders who need NVMe support or multiple drive bays must choose a different product.

USB 3.2 Gen 2 connection with dual-head cable

A USB Type-C port delivers up to 6Gbps bandwidth, and the included cable provides both USB-C to C and USB-C to A connectors rated at 10Gbps each. UASP, TRIM and SMART pass-through are supported for full SSD management. The enclosure draws power from the host port so no separate supply is needed. Systems limited to USB 3.1 Gen 1 will operate at lower throughput.

Aluminium shell with thermal vest and smart sleep

An all-aluminium body and a wrap-around cooling vest conduct heat away from the drive, aided by a silicone thermal pad. ORICO laboratory tests recorded 551.78MB/s read and 504.13MB/s write with a SATA SSD. After 10 minutes of inactivity the enclosure enters sleep mode to reduce power draw and extend drive life. An LED indicates active or idle status.
