The PNY Quadro K5000 MAC is a Kepler-based workstation graphics card with 4 GB of GDDR5 memory on a 256-bit interface. It connects through a PCIe 2.0 x16 slot and provides 1,536 CUDA cores delivering 2.1 teraflops of single-precision compute performance. The card targets Mac Pro users who need certified drivers for professional 3D, video and compute applications.
The dual-slot form factor uses a blower-style cooler that exhausts heat out of the rear bracket, keeping internal case temperatures lower in dense Mac Pro chassis. Power is drawn solely from the PCIe slot and an auxiliary connector, with the Kepler architecture maintaining modest power draw under typical CAD and rendering workloads. Acoustic output remains low during sustained professional use.
Four video outputs — one dual-link DVI-I, one dual-link DVI-D and two DisplayPort 1.2 connectors — drive up to four monitors simultaneously. DisplayPort 1.2 supports 3840×2160 at 60 Hz with 30 bpp colour depth, while dual-link DVI handles 2560×1600 at 60 Hz. Supported APIs include OpenGL 4.3, OpenCL 1.1, DirectX 11 and Shader Model 5 for broad software compatibility.
