The Supermicro SYS-510P-M is a 1U rackmount barebone server designed for general-purpose workloads. It targets system integrators and IT teams who need a compact chassis to build a single-socket Intel Xeon Scalable platform. The unit ships without a processor, memory or storage so buyers can tailor the configuration. It is not suited for buyers who want a pre-configured appliance or a multi-socket system.
The board uses a single LGA 4189 socket and supports 3rd Gen Intel Xeon Scalable processors up to a 220 W TDP. The Intel C621A chipset provides eight 288-pin DDR4 slots running at 3200, 2933 or 2666 MT/s with ECC and a maximum capacity of 3 TB. This constraint decides whether a chosen processor will fit the thermal envelope and memory topology.
A single platinum-rated 500 W power supply delivers continuous power to the CPU, eight DIMM slots and four hot-swap 3.5-inch hybrid drive bays. The 1U form factor relies on internal airflow to cool the FHHL PCI-E 4.0 x16 slot, two PCI-E 3.0 x4 slots and dual M.2 sockets during extended loads. The Aspeed AST2600 BMC and dual 1 GbE ports remain active for remote management throughout.
