System overview

The Velztorm Septex is a new gaming desktop built around an AMD Ryzen 7 7700X processor and a Radeon RX 9070 XT graphics card. It ships with 64GB of DDR5 memory and a 1TB PCIe NVMe SSD, plus Windows 11 Pro pre-installed. The chassis includes a 360mm AIO cooler, RGB lighting and a 1000W power supply. Connectivity covers WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, RJ-45 Ethernet and a mix of USB 2.0, 3.0 and 3.1 Type-C ports.

Upgrade path

This configuration replaces a mid-range tower that relies on an 8-core CPU with lower boost clocks and a graphics card below the 16GB GDDR6 tier. The jump is worthwhile when workloads demand 5.4GHz single-core speed, 640 GB/sec memory bandwidth and a 256-bit bus for 1440p or 4K gaming.
