What this camera does

The Wyze Cam v4 captures 2.5K QHD video at 20 frames per second using a CMOS sensor with digital zoom and auto focus. It is built for indoor or outdoor placement with IP65 weather resistance and connects through Wi-Fi. The camera supports Google Assistant voice control and runs from a corded electric supply rated 100-240 volts.

Wireless limits to plan for

Video streaming and motion alerts depend entirely on the strength of the Wi-Fi signal at the mounting location. The corded power supply requires a nearby mains outlet, so outdoor installations need protected power access. No local storage or wired network option is provided, so continuous recording relies on cloud connectivity and app access.

Build and daily use

The IP65 rating means the housing resists rain and dust, but the Wyze Outdoor Adapter is required for outdoor use and is sold separately. A wall mount is included for fixed positioning, while pan and tilt are handled digitally rather than mechanically. The motion-activated spotlight, voice warning and built-in siren operate automatically when the camera detects movement.
