4U Rackmount Chassis with 800W PSU

The Athena Power RM-4U400S80 is a 4U rackmount server chassis supplied with an 800W ULTIMATE PS2 power supply. It accepts MicroATX, ATX and Mini-ITX motherboards. The front panel is aluminium with a 1.2mm steel body finished in black. Four 80mm fans are pre-installed for airflow. Two front USB 2.0 ports, power and reset switches, plus power and HDD indicators are included.

Upgrade from tower or smaller rack cases

This chassis replaces a tower enclosure when a 4U rack footprint is required. The jump is worth it when you need four external 5.25 inch bays and seven full-height expansion slots in a 16 inch depth. Builders who need more than two internal 3.5 inch bays or more than seven expansion slots will find the internal bay count and slot count limiting. The bundled 800W PSU removes the need to source a separate unit.

Limits of the 800W PS2 supply and 80mm cooling

The included 800W PS2 power supply uses dual fans with automatic speed control for thermal management. Four 80mm chassis fans provide the primary airflow path. Systems with very high CPU or multi-GPU power draw may exceed the cooling capacity of the 80mm fans or the output headroom of the PSU. The seven full-height slots support PCI, PCI 64-bit, AGP and PCI-Express add-in cards, but the 16 inch depth restricts maximum card length.
