MediaTek Filogic 880 platform

The BFKK BPI-R4 Pro 8X is a development board built around the MediaTek MT7988A quad-core Arm Cortex-A73 processor running at 1.8 GHz. It targets makers and engineers who need a high-performance WiFi 7 router or gateway platform for networking experiments and edge-computing prototypes.

Dual 10G and four 2.5G Ethernet ports

The board provides one 10G SFP cage, one combo 10G RJ45 WAN port and four 2.5G RJ45 LAN ports for wired infrastructure. An M.2 2280 slot accepts an NVME SSD while a USB 3.2 interface and a 26-pin GPIO header with UART, I2C, SPI, PWM and I2S free up expansion options for storage, cellular modules or custom peripherals.

8 GB DDR4 and 8 GB eMMC onboard

The 8X variant ships with 8 GB of DDR4 memory and 8 GB of eMMC flash plus 256 MB SPI-NAND flash, so the system can boot and run OpenWRT without an external card. A MicroSD slot remains available for additional storage or alternative boot media, and the pre-loaded OpenWRT image lets developers start testing WiFi 7 access-point features immediately.
