Twelve hot-swap trays accept 3.5-inch SAS or SATA drives and connect to a PERC HBA355i host bus adapter that presents disks directly to the operating system without hardware RAID abstraction. Dual 1400 W platinum-efficiency power supplies operate in redundant hot-swap mode, maintaining uptime if one unit fails. The 2U chassis directs front-to-rear airflow across both CPU sockets, memory banks and drive trays, keeping thermals stable under sustained load. Fan speeds adjust automatically through iDRAC policies, balancing acoustic output against inlet temperature in typical data-centre aisles.
