The HP ProLiant DL360 Gen9 packs two eight-core Xeon E5-2640v3 processors running at 2.6 GHz into a single rack unit. Thirty-two threads handle virtualisation hosts, database nodes and dense compute clusters. The C610 chipset and 24 DDR4 slots provide a stable platform for multi-tenant workloads that need consistent throughput in limited space.

64 GB DDR4 ceiling and eight-bay storage

Sixty-four gigabytes of registered ECC DDR4 at up to 2400 MT/s fills half the DIMM slots, leaving headroom for the 3 TB maximum when datasets grow. Two 1 TB 7.2 K SAS drives sit behind the Smart HBA H240ar, which supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 across the eight 2.5-inch bays. The controller’s 12 Gb SAS link keeps drive arrays from bottlenecking the CPUs, though the installed mechanical spindles cap sustained throughput well below that ceiling.

Redundant 500 W supplies in a 1U chassis

Dual hot-swap 500 W power supplies share the load and survive a single-unit failure without downtime. The Matrox G200 graphics chip draws minimal power, leaving the bulk of the budget for CPUs and memory. Fan speeds ramp with inlet temperature; under typical mixed loads the system stays within acoustic limits for a server room, but sustained all-core turbo will push airflow and noise higher.
