Compact mini-ITX tower for NAS builds

The iStarUSA S-35-B4BK is a black aluminium-and-steel tower that fits a mini-ITX motherboard and provides four hot-swap 3.5" bays at the front. A single internal 2.5" bay and one expansion slot complete the internal layout. Two front USB 2.0 ports give basic external connectivity for a headless storage server.

Four hot-swap bays with one internal 2.5" slot

Four 3.5" trays accept SATA or SAS drives at 6.0 Gb/s, letting the chassis hold a small RAID array or a mixed SSD and HDD set. The lone 2.5" position can host an OS drive, but there is no further room for additional internal storage. Builds that need more than four 3.5" drives or multiple add-in cards will exceed the available bays and slots.

Single 120 mm fan cools the drive stack

One 120 mm fan pulls air through the front panel across the four drive bays and the motherboard area. The aluminium front panel and steel frame conduct heat away from the drives, though sustained heavy array activity can raise internal temperatures. Acoustic output stays modest at idle but increases under continuous disk load. Power comes from a Flex ATX supply, which keeps cabling simple in the compact 8.90" x 8.68" x 12.76" footprint.
