Replacement Power Supply for HP Desktops

This Replace Power ATX unit is built as a direct replacement for HP A442n, A445c, A445w, A446x, A450e, A450n, A450y and A462x systems. It fits a standard ATX slot while using a reduced depth of 5.86 inches for tighter chassis clearance. The grey enclosure holds a single 80 mm fan for cooling. It is not suited for builds that need more than 280 watts of continuous power.

Capacity and Headroom at 280 Watts Continuous

The supply delivers a maximum rated output of 420 watts with a total continuous wattage of 280 watts. It provides +5V, -5V, +12V1, +12V2, +3.3V, -12V and +5V-SB rails for motherboard, CPU and peripheral loads. The fixed cable set includes a 24 (20+4) pin motherboard connector, one 4-pin CPU connector, three SATA 15-pin connectors, two Molex 4-pin connectors and one floppy 4-pin connector. Systems with high-end graphics cards or many drives will exceed the continuous rating.

Thermals, Noise and Power Draw in Normal Use

An 80 mm fan handles airflow, with the unit specified for low ripple and noise during operation. AC input accepts 110 or 220 volts at 47 to 63 Hz, with a hold-up time of at least 17 ms at nominal voltage and a rise time under 70 ms. The design meets ROHS and CE standards and has been Hi-Pot tested. It is not intended for silent-optimised builds that require fanless or semi-passive operation.
