Compact 1U rack server for dense compute

The PowerEdge R650xs fits two Xeon Gold 6330 processors and 256 GB of DDR4 into a single rack unit, giving virtualization hosts and HPC clusters high thread counts without consuming extra space. Eight 2.5-inch drive bays and a PERC H745 controller with 4 GB cache provide flexible local storage for databases or caching tiers. Quad-port 1 GbE networking and iDRAC9 Enterprise handle fabric and remote management from day one.

Two CPUs, eight bays and front RAID in 1U

Dual LGA 4189 sockets support up to 28 cores each, while sixteen DIMM slots allow memory growth to 1 TB when workloads expand. The H745 RAID card manages SATA and SAS drives in RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 or 60 without occupying a PCIe slot. An OCP 3.0 mezzanine carries the 5720 quad-port adapter, leaving the rear PCIe riser free for GPU or additional NICs. Hot-swap power supplies and tool-less rails simplify rack integration.

Platinum power supplies and managed thermals

Redundant 1400 W platinum-efficiency units share load and survive single-module failure without downtime. iDRAC9 monitors inlet temperature, fan speed and power draw in real time, adjusting fan curves to keep acoustics low during typical virtualization loads. The 1U chassis directs airflow front-to-rear across CPUs, memory and drive trays, maintaining thermal headroom for sustained 3.1 GHz turbo operation.
