The Dell PowerEdge R740 is a 2U rackmount server system built for virtualization, database and high-performance computing workloads. Dual Intel Xeon Silver 4110 processors and 256GB of DDR4 registered ECC memory deliver strong multi-threaded throughput. The platform supports up to two CPUs and 3TB of total memory across 24 slots.

PERC H730P storage controller

A Dell PERC H730P 2GB controller manages the eight installed 1.2TB 10K SAS hard drives at 12Gb/s. The controller supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50, 60 and pass-through modes with battery-backed cache. Eight 2.5-inch drive bays are populated, leaving no empty bays for additional internal storage.
