Dual 48-Core Xeon Platform

The Dell PowerEdge R760 is a 2U rack server built around two Intel Xeon Platinum 8468 processors, each running at 2.1 GHz with a 3.8 GHz turbo frequency. With 48 cores per socket, the system targets virtualization hosts, AI inference, and database clusters that need high thread counts in a compact form factor. It ships with 512 GB of DDR5-4800 ECC registered memory across 16 modules.

Storage Controller and Drive Layout

The PERC H965i RAID controller provides 8 GB of non-volatile cache and supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50, and 60 across the chassis. Four 1.92 TB SATA solid-state drives are installed in the front 2.5-inch bays, leaving twelve bays open for additional SAS, SATA, or NVMe devices. Maximum memory capacity reaches 8 TB across 32 DIMM slots for future expansion.

PCIe Gen5 and OCP 3.0 Connectivity

The platform uses PCI Express Gen5 slots for high-bandwidth add-in cards such as GPUs or NVMe adapters. Network connectivity is handled by a Broadcom 5720 quad-port 1 GbE OCP 3.0 adapter.
