Dual 10GbE RJ45 server adapter

The Graviton X540-T2 adds two 10 Gigabit Ethernet ports over copper to a server or workstation. It uses the Intel X540 controller and connects through a PCIe 2.1 x8 slot. The card supports 10GBASE-T, 1000BASE-T and 100BASE-TX speeds on Category 6 or 6A cabling.

Upgrade from single-port or 1GbE NICs

Replacing a single 10GbE port or a gigabit adapter doubles 10Gbps throughput or jumps tenfold from 1GbE. The move is worth it when storage replication, virtualisation traffic or backup windows saturate existing links. Category 6 cable runs up to 55 metres; Category 6A reaches 100 metres.
