The HP ProLiant DL380 Gen9 is a 2U rack server built for data-centre environments. It ships with a single Intel Xeon E5-2609 v3 six-core processor running at 1.9GHz and 128GB of DDR4 memory. The chassis supports a second processor for up to 36 total cores when workloads grow.

Redundant power and dense drive bays

Two hot-swap 500W power supplies provide redundancy without downtime. The front holds 24 small-form-factor 2.5-inch SAS bays, currently populated with two 1TB 7.2K drives. A Smart Array P440 controller with 4GB flash-backed write cache manages RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 across all bays.

Memory ceiling fixed at 128GB

The installed 128GB already reaches the maximum capacity this configuration allows, so no further DIMMs can be added. Buyers who need more than 128GB of RAM must choose a different server platform.
