The HPE ProLiant ML350 Gen10 8SFF rack server ships with two Intel Xeon Gold 5218 processors running at 2.3 GHz and 128 GB of DDR4 ECC registered memory. It targets organisations that need a dense compute platform for virtualisation, database workloads or multi-threaded applications. The chassis provides eight 2.5-inch drive bays and a Smart Array P408 SAS controller for flexible storage configuration. No drives are installed, so buyers select capacity and media type to match the workload.

Thermal and power profile

Two 500 W Flex Slot power supplies deliver redundant power while the integrated iLO Advanced remote management monitors temperatures and fan speeds. The 36 x 24 x 10 inch rack-mount form factor fits standard cabinets and uses front-to-rear airflow to keep both CPUs and the memory subsystem within specification under sustained load. Acoustic output scales with utilisation, remaining moderate during typical virtualisation duties.

Build integration

The server occupies 2U of rack space and requires rails, which are available on request, plus a PDU or UPS circuit for the dual supplies. Network connectivity is handled by an Intel I350 and X540 card providing two 10 GbE and two 1 GbE ports. The P408 controller supports SAS and SATA drives, freeing the internal bays for any mix of HDDs or SSDs up to the 3 TB memory ceiling. GPU expansion is limited to the integrated graphics unless a riser kit is sourced separately.
