The Intel Core Ultra 9 285 is a 24-thread desktop CPU built on the Arrow Lake architecture with eight performance cores and sixteen efficient cores. It fits the LGA 1851 socket and supports up to 256 GB of DDR5 memory across two channels. Integrated Intel Graphics run at a 300 MHz base frequency.
The chip uses TSMC N3B 3nm manufacturing and operates at a 65 W base power with a 182 W maximum turbo power. Performance cores reach up to 5.4 GHz turbo while efficient cores hit 4.6 GHz, with Thermal Velocity Boost allowing 5.6 GHz. The 40 MB L2 and 36 MB L3 caches feed data to both core types.
Under continuous multi-threaded workloads the processor manages power between performance and efficient cores to stay within thermal limits. The 24 PCI Express 5.0 and 4.0 lanes maintain bandwidth for storage and add-in cards during extended sessions. ECC memory support adds data integrity for long-running compute tasks.

It uses the LGA 1851 socket. The boxed Intel Laminar RH2 cooler is included and mounts directly to the standard LGA 1851 retention mechanism.
Align the processor notches with the socket keys, place it gently without force, then lower the retention lever fully until it locks; skipping the alignment check can bend the delicate LGA 1851 contacts.
Clean dust from the heatsink fins and fan blades periodically with compressed air; if the pre-applied thermal paste dries out after several years, remove the cooler, clean both surfaces with isopropyl alcohol, and apply fresh paste.
