Universal Drive Adapter

The Jansicotek E19 connects standard 2.5in or 3.5in SATA and IDE hard drives to a computer through a USB 3.0 port. It also supports 5.25in optical drives such as DVD-ROM, CD-ROM and DVD-RW. A 12 V DC power supply is included for 3.5in devices. The adapter works with Windows, Mac OS, Linux and Chrome OS.

USB 3.0 Interface Limits

The USB 3.0 connection provides data transfer rates up to 5 Gb/s and is backward compatible with USB 2.0 and USB 1.1. Drives are limited by the USB bus bandwidth rather than their native SATA or IDE speeds. The adapter cannot exceed the 5 Gb/s ceiling even with faster drives attached.

Capacity Headroom

The adapter supports drives with a capacity of up to 6 TB. It can handle three drives simultaneously using the dual-head IDE connector (40-pin and 44-pin) plus the SATA connector. Drives larger than 6 TB are not supported by this unit.

Klausimai apie šią prekę

Should I pick the USB 3.0 version or the USB-C version for my laptop?

The E19 model uses a USB 3.0 port; the USB-C reference appears only in the broader supplier title, so this adapter connects via standard USB-A.

What does the 5 Gb/s headline speed actually deliver when I clone a 3.5″ drive?

The 5 Gb/s ceiling is the USB 3.0 interface limit; real-world throughput depends on the drive’s own read/write capability and system overhead.

Does the USB 3.0 port cap performance with a 6 TB SATA III drive?

The USB 3.0 link tops out at 5 Gb/s, which is below SATA III’s 6 Gb/s, so the adapter becomes the bottleneck on fast drives.
