Server memory upgrade

This OWC kit supplies 256GB of DDR5 ECC registered memory in two 128GB modules for HP ProLiant DL320 Gen11, DL380a Gen11 and DX320 Gen11 servers. It targets administrators who need maximum capacity per slot for virtualisation, databases or large in-memory workloads. The modules run at 4800 MT/s with CL40 latency at the standard 1.1V JEDEC voltage.

Build and compatibility

Each 288-pin RDIMM uses a 4Rx4 organisation and has no heat spreader, so it fits the standard DIMM sockets in the listed ProLiant chassis without clearance issues. ECC and register circuitry provide the error correction and signal integrity required by those platforms, and the kit is validated against the vendor memory-qualified list. Mixing with unbuffered or load-reduced DIMMs is not supported.

Capacity step up

The kit replaces smaller DDR5 RDIMM sets or fills empty slots to reach the 256GB total in a two-module configuration. The upgrade makes sense when current memory limits the number of virtual machines, container density or database buffer size the server can handle.
