Pimoroni Enviro + Air Quality Development Board for Raspberry Pi

SKU CH-2EKP-VSS78

Environmental monitoring board with gas, particulate, temperature, humidity, pressure, light and noise sensors plus a 0.96" colour LCD for Raspberry Pi

  • Measures temperature, pressure and humidity with BME280 sensor
  • Detects light levels and proximity using LTR-559 sensor
  • Monitors pollutant gases via MICS6814 analog gas sensor
  • Reads analog signals through ADS1015 ADC with MEMS microphone
  • Displays data on 0.96" colour LCD and connects particulate matter sensor

Environmental monitoring for Raspberry Pi

The Pimoroni Enviro + Air Quality board adds a full sensor suite to a Raspberry Pi for indoor or outdoor environmental monitoring. It measures temperature, pressure, humidity, light, proximity, gas pollutants, noise level and supports an optional particulate matter sensor. The board is aimed at makers, educators and citizen-science contributors who want to log local air-quality data.

Build quality and daily connections

The board uses a Pimoroni breakout-compatible pin header that plugs directly onto a Raspberry Pi GPIO header. An on-board 0.96" colour LCD with a 160x80 resolution provides immediate read-outs without a separate display. A dedicated connector allows a particulate matter sensor to be attached when particulate monitoring is required.

Compatibility checks before ordering

Verify that your Raspberry Pi model provides a standard 40-pin GPIO header for the breakout-compatible pin header. Confirm whether you need a particulate matter sensor for your project, as it is not included and connects via the dedicated port. Ensure your software stack can access the BME280, LTR-559, MICS6814, ADS1015 and MEMS microphone through the appropriate libraries.

Klausimai apie šią prekę

What does the BME280 sensor measure on the Enviro + Air Quality board?

The BME280 sensor measures temperature, pressure and humidity for environmental monitoring.

What header style does the board use to attach to a Raspberry Pi?

It uses a Pimoroni breakout-compatible pin header that fits directly onto the Raspberry Pi GPIO pins.

How is the ADS1015 ADC used during installation of the gas sensor?

The ADS1015 converts the MICS6814 analog gas sensor readings into digital data; the common mistake is forgetting to enable I2C on the Raspberry Pi before reading values.
