10 Gbps Dual-Port SFP+ Adapter

SFP+ Modules Sold Separately

The card ships with no transceivers or cables, so you must supply compatible SFP+ optics or DACs for each port. No driver disc or management utility is included; the operating system or Sun/Oracle support channels provide the necessary software. Without installed modules the ports remain inactive, so budget for the appropriate fibre or copper media.

PCI Express 2.0 x1 Bandwidth Limit

Each port is rated at 10 Gbps, but the single-lane PCIe 2.0 host interface caps aggregate throughput at roughly 5 Gbps. Full line-rate traffic on both ports simultaneously cannot be sustained. Latency-sensitive workloads should account for this bottleneck when planning link utilisation.
