Eight-port SATA III expansion
The Syba SI-ADA40170 connects eight SATA drives through a single M.2 B+M key slot using a PCIe 3.0 x2 link. A Jmicron controller manages the connection and supports AHCI 1.0 with SATA 6 Gbps transfer rates. The card delivers up to 1700 MB/s of aggregate bandwidth across all ports.
Storage arrays not boot drives
Builders expanding drive counts for NAS, backup or media libraries can add eight bays without occupying a full-size PCIe slot. The adapter cannot boot an operating system, so it is unsuitable for anyone who needs the system drive on these ports. Systems without a free M.2 B+M key connection cannot use this card.
PCIe 3.0 x2 lane budget
The M.2 interface supplies two PCIe 3.0 lanes that are shared by all eight SATA ports. Total sequential throughput tops out at 1700 MB/s, so simultaneous heavy traffic on multiple drives will contend for that bandwidth. Buyers should verify the host platform provides an M.2 B+M key slot wired for PCIe.

Klausimai apie šią prekę
How much heat or power does the card draw when all eight SATA drives are running continuously?
The card uses a Jmicron chipset over a PCIe 3.0 x2 link and has no active cooling, so power draw and heat stay low even with eight drives active.
What slot and cabling must my system already have for this adapter to work?
You need a free M.2 B+M key slot wired for PCIe 3.0 x2; the box includes two Mini SAS to 4-port SATA cables for the drives.
Will the card work alongside my older SATA 3 Gbps drives and a legacy PCIe 2.0 motherboard?
Yes — it complies with SATA 6 Gbps and AHCI 1.0, so older SATA drives run at their rated speed, and the PCIe 3.0 x2 interface is backward compatible with PCIe 2.0 slots.
