Purpose-built capacity

The Synology RS3626xs is a 2U rackmount NAS populated with twelve 12TB enterprise drives for 144TB of raw capacity. An Intel Xeon D-1726 processor and 8GB of DDR4 ECC memory drive file services, virtualization, and surveillance workloads. Dual redundant power supplies protect uptime against a single supply failure. The system ships fully assembled and tested.

Sustained throughput

Synology reports sequential reads exceeding 6,300 MB/s and writes exceeding 3,700 MB/s under its test conditions, reflecting sustained bandwidth rather than burst speeds. Two integrated 10GbE RJ-45 ports support link aggregation for load balancing and failover. The included dual-port 25GbE SFP28 adapter adds high-speed connectivity for demanding multi-user access.

Expansion ceiling

Two PCIe Gen 4 x8 slots accept additional network adapters, Fibre Channel cards, or SSD caching hardware as requirements grow. Memory can be expanded to 48GB for larger concurrent workloads. Twelve 3.5-inch SATA bays set the physical drive limit; buyers needing more bays must add an expansion unit or choose a larger chassis. Operating temperature ranges from 0°C to 35°C.
