Smart-UPS for servers and networks

The APC SMT2200C is a line-interactive uninterruptible power supply rated at 2200 VA and 1980 W. It delivers sine-wave output to protect servers, point-of-sale systems, routers, switches and other network devices from power disturbances. The unit operates from a 120 V input with a range of 82 to 144 V and includes automatic voltage regulation.

Runtime and load capacity

At full load the battery provides approximately 10.10 minutes of backup time, while the rated load capacity is 1920 VA. A sealed lead-acid battery recharges in roughly three hours and is user-replaceable using the RBC55 cartridge. Cold-start capability supplies temporary battery power when utility power is unavailable.

Connectivity and management limits

Ten output receptacles are provided: eight NEMA 5-15R and two NEMA 5-20R. The input connection uses a NEMA 5-20P plug. Management interfaces include an RJ-45 network port with SmartConnect, a USB port and a SmartSlot for optional cards. Surge energy rating is 530 J and the unit carries UL 1778 and CSA approvals.

The SMT2200C requires a NEMA 5-20R receptacle rated for 20 A. A standard NEMA 5-15R receptacle is rated for 15 A and will not accept the 5-20P plug, so a dedicated 20 A circuit is needed.

How can I confirm the UPS is delivering clean sine-wave output to my servers after installation?

The LCD menu shows output voltage, output frequency (47 – 53 Hz), load percentage and runtime. Steady 120 V output within that frequency range confirms the sine-wave inverter is operating correctly.
