12GB DDR3 ECC Registered Kit

This 12GB kit contains three 4GB DDR3 1333MHz ECC registered DIMMs built for the Dell Precision T7500 workstation. It uses 240-pin modules with CL9 timing and 1.5V operation. The registered design adds a buffer for signal integrity in multi-module configurations. Buyers needing non-ECC or unbuffered memory for consumer platforms cannot use this kit.

Sustained Load Behaviour

The modules run at 1333MHz only when one DIMM occupies each channel with a Xeon X5550 or higher processor installed. Adding more modules per channel reduces the operating speed to 1066MHz or 800MHz depending on the processor model. Xeon E5520 or higher supports 1066MHz, while Xeon E5506 or lower limits the system to 800MHz. Mixed x4 and x8 DRAM versions must not share a memory bank.

Triple Channel Limits

Triple channel mode requires matched modules installed in the correct bank layout across the six sockets on the primary system board. An optional second processor riser card expands capacity to twelve sockets and a 192GB maximum. DDR3-1333 modules automatically clock down to 1066MHz or 800MHz when the configuration or processor does not support the higher speed.
