The DELL Latitude 5424 is a 14.0-inch rugged notebook built to military-grade standards for harsh environments. It runs Windows 11 Pro on an Intel Core i5-8350U quad-core processor with 6MB cache and speeds up to 3.60 GHz. The system includes 16 GB DDR4 memory and a 256 GB SSD for responsive operation in the field. A 10-point touchscreen supports glove use for outdoor professionals.

Chassis, ports and daily connectivity

The rugged chassis uses specialised materials and high-cycle testing to withstand drops, vibration and extreme temperatures. Direct-view display technology delivers brightness suitable for direct sunlight viewing. Connectivity includes USB 3.0 ports, USB Type C, HDMI, DisplayPort, a serial port and RJ-45 Ethernet. Wireless options cover Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and optional LTE 4G with dedicated GPS for remote sites.

Integrated graphics and battery limits

Intel UHD Graphics 620 handles basic visualisation and external displays up to 1920 x 1080 resolution but is not suited for heavy 3D or compute workloads. Internal 6-cell and 9-cell battery packs provide all-day runtime, with an optional hot-swap bridge battery for continuous shifts. The platform uses 8th-generation architecture, so newer instruction sets and memory standards are not supported.
