The Dell PowerEdge M640 is a half-height blade built for the PowerEdge MX and M1000e chassis. Two Intel Xeon Gold 6150 processors deliver 36 cores at 2.7 GHz with a 3.7 GHz turbo frequency. It targets workloads such as virtualization, private cloud and high-performance computing where rack density matters.

Build and Connectivity

The blade occupies a single half-height slot and uses the chassis mid-plane for power, cooling and I/O. A Broadcom 57810S-K dual-port 10 Gb network daughter card provides fabric connectivity. The integrated PERC S140 controller manages the two 960 GB SATA SSDs and supports RAID 0, 1, 5 and 10 across SATA or SAS drives. iDRAC 9 Enterprise enables full remote management.
