Virtualisation-ready 48-core rack server

This 1U rackmount server ships with two Intel Xeon Platinum 8160 processors running at 2.10 GHz, giving 48 cores for virtualisation, database and application hosting workloads. The system includes 512 GB of DDR4 memory and eight new 1 TB SATA SSDs behind an H730P storage controller.

Sustained multi-threaded throughput

Dual-socket design keeps all 48 cores fed during long-running jobs such as VM fleets or batch processing. The H730P controller manages the SSD array with onboard cache so write latency stays predictable when the drives are busy for hours.

2.5-inch SATA bay limit

Eight 2.5-inch bays cap raw capacity at the installed 8 TB and prevent larger 3.5-inch drives from fitting. The SATA interface on each bay sets the throughput ceiling, so workloads needing faster media would require a different chassis.
