The Dell PowerEdge R650xs packs two Intel Xeon Gold 5317 processors, each with 12 cores at 3.0 GHz, into a single rack unit. It targets virtualization hosts, dense cloud nodes, and analytics clusters that need maximum threads per rack slot.

SAS controller sets the storage ceiling

The PERC H745 handles eight 2.5" SAS drives with RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50, and 60. It does not present NVMe or SATA lanes to the front bays, so all-flash NVMe arrays or SATA-only capacity tiers need a different chassis.

256 GB DDR4 with room to grow
