The Dell PowerEdge R930 is a 4U rack server equipped with four Intel Xeon E7-8867 v4 processors running at 2.4 GHz with 16 cores each. It ships with 768 GB of DDR4 registered ECC memory across 48 DIMM slots. This configuration targets organisations running memory-intensive workloads such as in-memory databases, large-scale virtualisation, and analytics platforms that demand maximum compute density in a single chassis.

24-bay SAS storage and quad-port networking

The chassis provides 24 hot-plug 2.5-inch drive bays populated with 600 GB 10K SAS drives connected to a PERC H330 controller supporting RAID 0, 1, 5, 10 and 50. A daughter card adds two 1 GbE and two 10 Gb SFP+ ports for flexible network connectivity. Four 1100 W 80+ Platinum power supplies deliver redundant power, while included ready rails and a front bezel simplify rack installation. The system supports up to 12 TB of memory and additional NVMe drives not included in this build.

iDRAC8 Enterprise remote management

The embedded iDRAC8 Enterprise licence enables full remote administration, including virtual console, power control, and hardware monitoring without an operating system. Dell OpenManage integration adds agent-free provisioning and lifecycle automation across the fleet. These tools reduce the need for physical data-centre visits and accelerate deployment of new nodes. Buyers who require GPU acceleration or fibre-channel connectivity will need to add expansion cards separately.
