AMD B450 Micro-ATX Motherboard

The GIGABYTE B450M S2H is a Micro-ATX board built around the AMD B450 chipset for socket AM4 processors. It accepts Ryzen first- and second-generation CPUs as well as Athlon APUs with Radeon Vega graphics. Two DDR4 slots support up to 32 GB in dual-channel mode.

Single M.2 Slot for Storage

One M.2 connector handles both SATA and PCIe x4 drives in 2242, 2260 and 2280 lengths. With an Athlon 200-series or 7th-generation A-series APU the slot works only for SATA SSDs. This single slot is the primary high-speed storage connection on the board.

VRM Cooling Under Load

The board uses a discrete voltage-regulator layout without integrated heatsinks on the power phases. During extended all-core workloads the MOSFETs rely on case airflow to stay within safe temperatures. Adequate chassis ventilation is required to prevent thermal throttling on higher-wattage CPUs.
