Two hot-swap 500 W power supplies share the load continuously, keeping the system running if one unit fails. The Smart HBA H240ar controller manages up to eight 2.5-inch SAS or SATA drives with hardware RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60, maintaining consistent I/O during extended backup, database or virtualisation tasks rather than only brief bursts.

12 Gb SAS and 6 Gb SATA ceiling

The H240ar interface caps drive bandwidth at 12 Gb/s for SAS and 6 Gb/s for SATA, so adding faster media will not increase throughput beyond those limits. Memory speed is bound by the processor to a maximum of 2400 MT/s, and the installed Matrox G200 graphics provides only 16 MB of video memory for basic console output.
