This 2U rackmount system fits 24 small-form-factor drive bays and a Smart Array P440 controller with 4GB flash-backed write cache. A single Xeon E5-2630v3 eight-core processor at 2.4GHz and 96GB of DDR4 ECC registered memory are installed. The platform supports up to two processors and 24 DIMM slots for future expansion.

Sustained throughput with flash-backed cache

The P440 controller backs its 4GB cache with a capacitor module so write data survives power loss during heavy RAID 5, 6, 10, 50 or 60 workloads. Dual 500W hot-swap power supplies share the load and keep the server running if one unit fails. Twelve-gigabit SAS lanes feed the 24 front bays without bottlenecks under continuous I/O.

Redundant power and tool-less drive trays

Twenty-four drive trays with captive screws ship empty, letting operators swap drives without tools while the system stays online. The Matrox G200eH2 graphics chip provides basic console output through a standard VGA port. No optical drive bay exists on this 24-bay chassis, and the rear cage option adds two more SFF slots if capacity needs grow.
