The jump is worth it when workloads need 32 hyper-threaded cores and up to 3TB of DDR4 capacity, but the installed 128GB already hits the practical ceiling for the fitted processors. Buyers who need more than 128GB per node must move to a v4 CPU configuration.

Fits standard 2U racks with SATA storage

The chassis accepts eight 2.5-inch SFF drive bays and includes two drive trays with screws; no drives are installed. The B140i controller handles SATA only, so SAS or NVME drives require a separate controller card. An optional universal media bay or additional SFF cages can occupy bays 2 and 3 for expanded capacity. A Matrox G200eH2 GPU with 16MB video memory provides basic console output.
